Jane Lynch (born July 14, 1960) is an American writer, actress, and singer best known for her roles in Glee and comedies such as Best in Show and Judd Aptow comedies like The Forty Year-Old Virgin.
Lynch was born and raised in Dolton, Illinois. She was raised in an Irish Catholic family and attended Thornridge High School. She received her bachelor's degree in theatre from Illinois State University and her MFA at Cornell University.
