National HIV Testing Day is June 27 - and a great time to get that status updated if it has been more than 6 months since your last test.
This Friday, the Center on Halsted is offering free rapid HIV testing - and an interesting half-day health and wellness program as well.

Or as a thought experiment, ask a potential sex partner, "Let's get tested TOGETHER for A VARIETY of STDs." See what happens with the kind of discussion you've stirred up by an idea that does no harm and can at the very least make us a bit more conscious about the spread of infections among our communities. If he will do it with you and not head for the hills, do the experiment.
