The Chicago Transgender Coalition will be hosting a vigil in honor of the Transgender Day of Remembrance on Saturday, November 20. The Vigil will begin at 6pm and will be held downtown at the Thompson Center at 100 W. Randolph St.
The vigil is being organized to memorialize those lives lost to transphobia and violence against the transgender community. The event is held each November to honor Rita Hestor, who was murdered in San Francisco in 1998 and whose memory the first vigil was organized for. The 18 people memorialized were all lost within the past year in America, including Sandy Woulard of Chicago.
If you are part of an organization, the Coalition would love for you to join in presenting this vigil. If you would like to sign on as a presenting sponsor, please contact Anthony and he will add you to the list.
