CHICAGO – In a massive midday turnout, thousands of children, students, parents and leading advocates of state and citywide organizations that provide badly needed human services to working families and low-income communities [including people living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS] here protested at the downtown Thompson Center June 18th against “doomsday” budget cuts approved by state lawmakers last month.

-OPEN LETTER: AFC released on June 18 an open letter to Illinois leaders detailing the impact of HIV funding cuts. Please read it and share it widely.
-IDPH BUDGET CUTS: The Governor’s Office released earlier this week a list of potential IDPH funding cuts. Note that the list includes HIV prevention for communities of color.
