How is Andrew Deppe healthy?

Doing work I love every day
Investing loving energy in my primary relationships
Healing old wounds
Taking time for radical self-care
Dancing naked in the woods with the faeries
Swimming, biking, Qigong and yoga
Cultivating erotic energy
Enjoying sexual play and lovemaking
Living simply, slowly, intentionally
Corresponding with people in prison
Raising money for good causes
Enjoying local theatre, art and music
Being part of a spiritual community
Using my bicycle and CTA for transportation
Cooking vegetarian food at home
Brushing my teeth
Living without a cell phone and almost no television
Spending time outdoors listening to nature
Praying or meditating every day
Making sleep, rest and recreation high priorities
Getting massage and body work on a regular basis
Finding something lovable in everyone I meet
Letting go of ego, attachment, expectations and control issues
Rediscovering the power of breath
Forgiving myself and others for our shortcomings

I'm amazed at how many people work 40 or more hours a week and manage to stay sane and healthy.
I have the great privilege of working as a massage therapist out of my home, touching people every day, doing lots of self-care and continuing education programs, and spending relaxed time with those I love.

One trick is to learn how to reduce expenses and live more simply -- got rid of my car, joined a CSA and now cook at home, buy used clothes, live with other people . . .

I think our individualist, workaholic, consumer culture is THE ENEMY of health and wellness.
