The Bi Health Summit
August 14, 2009 in Chicago - kick-off event evening of August 13
in conjunction with
The 2009 National LGBTI Health Summit
August 14 – 18, 2009 in Chicago
About the Bi Health Summit:
The Bisexual Health Summit is a grassroots, community-oriented meeting designed for community health workers, activists, and other interested community members. The purpose is to come together and share knowledge about health issues affecting bisexuals and men and women who have multi-gendered sexuality, and to build health advocacy skills among bisexual people and our allies.
Join fellow advocates, professionals, activists, and concerned people from across the US and beyond for an update on the field of bisexual health with an emphasis on knowledge-sharing, movement-building, and strategizing about future directions in bisexual health.
Programming:
The Bi Health Summit is to be held in conjunction with the 2009 National LGBTI Health Summit, and will be both a concentrated, one-day event on August 14th, and a broader presence within the larger conference.

We are seeking panel proposals for the Bi Health Summit on health issues affecting bisexuals and men and women who have multi-gendered sexuality, including, but not limited, to the following areas:
• Clinical care – who serves the bisexual community and how is it best served?
• Community initiatives – what are the latest strategies?
• Research – what have we learned and what do we still need to explore?
• Education and training – what models are being used and are they working?
• Publications – learn the latest about resources on this topic
• Advocacy and policy work – what next steps should the movement for bisexual health take?
Submit a proposal for a panel or small discussion group.
Please remember
Individual panel presentations will run for 10 minutes. They will be thematically grouped with other panelists. There will be discussion and question and answer time with the other panelists.
The deadline for online presentation proposal submissions is March 31, 2009.
Proposals will be reviewed by a team of local and national planners who have signed up through the website’s Programming Group and presenters will be notified about accepted proposals by May 15, 2009.
