Using HIV case examples, this workshop outlines an ethical decision making process that participants can apply to their own clinical work. Use of this model raises the standard of practice, and provides psychotherapists with a defensible mechanism to engage when faced with difficult choices across a wide range of clinical issues and situations.

Couples Therapy: Applications of the Gottman Method

With over twenty-five years of research behind it, the highly acclaimed Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy has developed a strong following amongst marital therapists. This seminar will provide a review of the Gottmans' Sound Relationship House Theory, seven principles that make relationships work. Participants will learn how to apply the model to their clinical practice, with case material demonstrating its use with a variety of same-sex couples.
Workshop participants will receive the 550 page Clinician’s Workshop Manual, as well as a certificate of completion, from the Gottman Institute. For those interested in pursuing Gottman certification, this 2-day workshop fulfills the level 1 requirement.
