A note form the Global Forum:
It has been some time since our last communication, but we are very happy to announce a number of exciting developments.
Over the next few months, the work of the Forum will be gearing up and we ask you to check out the website on a regular basis.
1) Global Forum Secretariat Location: We are happy to announce that AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) has agreed to host the Secretariat for the Global Forum. Watch for more information and a revitalised/rebranded Global Forum Website coming soon!
2) amFAR and the Global Forum: In July 2007 the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR) invited The Forum to serve as its principal strategic partner and advisor for its new global MSM funding initiative. AmFAR will also be supporting a face-to-face meeting of the Global Forum Steering Committee. Read more about this on the main page of the Global Forum website. You can also visit the amFAR website
3) Sexual Health and Rights Project (SHARP) and the Global Forum: The Forum was invited to partner with the Sexual Health and Rights Project (SHARP) at the Open Society Institute, to co-sponsor and produce a one and one-half day MSM satellite at the 2008 International AIDS conference. SHARP envisions a satellite meeting for researchers, human rights organizations and LGBT community groups about how the lack of global HIV seroprevalence data on MSM drives the dearth of HIV prevention, treatment and care resources targeting MSM needs. Read more about this on the main page of the Global Forum website
What's New: Visit the “What’s New” page of the website to learn more about

Included in the What’s New section are several presentations from the congress, as well as information about the Asia Pacific Coalition on Male Sexual Health and HIV (APCOM).
In addition, we have posted a new report produced by APLA, in partnership with la Asociación Kukulcán y la Coalición de Organizaciones Gay y otros hombres que tienen sexo con hombres en América Central (CONGA) entitled, “No Mas En El Tintero- Hombres Gay: Nuestras Vidas y el VIH en Centro América y el Caribe.” The report presents the social challenges for gay men in relationship to HIV/AIDS and offers recommendations for addressing those challenges. “No Mas En El Tintero” is the result of a 2-day regional consultation of gay men held in Honduras in May 2006. The report is available in Spanish.
