Bird-dogging and Blog-dogging for Global AIDS

Have you wanted to get involved with the campaign to get our next President to adopt good policies on AIDS, but haven't had the time to go to a candidate event or the candidates haven't been in your area?

Are you frustrated by the lack of critical media around the President's recent announcement on his global AIDS plan?

Click here below to learn how youcan take action, and fight back

As you are most likely aware, President Bush unveiled his new plan forPEPFAR last week. The new announcement massively undermines the current program's success by putting the brakes on treatment scale-up and HIV prevention efforts. Not only is this a horrendous blow for the movement, but no one in the main stream media seems to see this for the smoke and mirrorshow it is. Help us alert the candidates, the media, and the voters about the truth around PEPFAR by helping us launch our bird-dogging of the blogs (our virtual blogdog, if you will).

Click here to find links to candidateblogs, talking points on PEPFAR and links to current blogs on the subject. Please take a few minutes to put up 2 or 3 comments or posts. We need as much chatter in the blogosphere as possible to show that President Bushcan't define the global AIDS agenda for the next president! We have to fight back and show that the American people are not happy withBush's plan to only increase the number of people on treatment by a marginal 500,000 during the 2nd five years of the plan.

The Presidential Candidates, and the media, need to know this isn't good enough. We can do this through getting the blogs, which both the media and candidates look to for a sense of public opinion, to start writing about Bush's most recent lies on global AIDS. More information on Bush's bad announcement is available here.

If we can post as many times as possible on any combination of these blogs,we will make a huge impact in not only educating the candidates and thepublic but we will help correct the misperception that President Bush did a fantastic thing with PEPFAR.
