How is Coco Alinsug healthy?

I see a doctor each year for a physical, but even a battery of blood tests can't always pick up potential health problems. In fact, doing fast health tests on my own -- like measuring my waist, inspecting my arches, even looking under my eyelids -- can tell you volumes about my physical well-being.

I know I am too much :) but those are basic stuff that each of us should be aware of. If there is something wrong with your vision, or your pants won’t fit you anymore or you have difficulty in climbing the stairs then those are signs that you need to do some adjustments with your daily habits or whatever.

Take this simple stretch test: Bend over and reach for your toes. If you can easily grab your big toe, you're very flexible. If you can reach only your ankle or shin, add daily stretching to your workout routine. Those are easy exercises and though I don’t exercise that much anymore, I always make sure to do this as often as I can.

Last but not the least is I tend to eat healthy, I am Filipino and God knows we love those chicharones and other fatty and sumptuous stuff but I sometimes shy away from that food, take note, I said “sometimes” hahaha. But I make sure that I don’t crave that food every day, something I always did in the past.

In closing, it is important to have a healthy mind set and if possible a spiritual consciousness.

How is Stephan Adelson healthy?

Being healthy for me starts within and moves outwards.

Having and maintaining a healthily perspective by keeping life in the here and now, staying focused on what is (as opposed to what is imagined), and taking the time to meditate are the foundation of me being healthily. A clear understanding of where I am in the present and a calm responsive, not reactive, approach to life give me the emotional foundation that allows me to continue to do the things that keep me healthy.

Self awareness, compassion, and allowing myself to love and be loved provide the self esteem that keeps me in a place of caring, to care for myself I must care about myself, accepting my strengths and forgiving my weaknesses.

Being healthy emotionally also allows me to treat others in a healthy way, when I drive or when I deal with difficult people and to remain centered even when life does not go ‘my way’.

To me, staying healthy sexually is about communication and information. Asking questions of myself and a potential sexual partner while negotiating the risks I am willing to take with an individual are an important part of staying healthy sexually. Knowing my emotional and physical limits, knowing the status of my partner and choosing to play appropriately, allow me to freely enjoy sex and my playmate without fear, shame or guilt.

Physically I exercise, eat as healthy as I can while still enjoying food, get a regular checkup and listen to my body.

Healthy is as healthy does.

DISGUSTING: Act Now to Stop Misleading “AIDS Charity”

via the AIDS Action Committeel blog, by Dan Scanlan

For those who care about the cause of HIV/AIDS, it’s vexing that an issue of such importance, gravity and urgency rarely seems to earn headlines, let alone placement on the front pages of national newspapers. That’s why many of us were surprised to see that HIV/AIDS had finally made it to the front pages of the New York Times website, for well over a week running now. Has there been a revolutionary medical or policy advance? Not exactly. It turns out that all it would have taken to get HIV/AIDS onto these front pages was money. And a blind eye.

Harm reduction and a focus on the holistic - Boston's MALE Center goes beyond ...

MALE Center equips men to avoid HIV infection
via Bay Windows by St. John Barned-Smith

Excerpt:
"The whole premise behind the MALE Center was to help reengage the community around HIV prevention, around [the sexual] health of the community," said Shankle. "We moved the focus from just doing HIV prevention, but talking about a whole approach to gay and bisexual men’s health. So we’re looking at things like substance abuse, like how people engage in the community, homelessness, the fact that unemployment - these are all things that lead people to make decisions that may not be the best decisions related to their sexual health."
